YAAAAYYY!
Thank you for signing up! I sure do appreciate you!
As a token of my appreciation, here is a nourishing smoothie recipe that I enjoy in my smoothie rotations. This smoothie recipe is adapted from the blog: Eating Bird Food by Brittany
Chocolate Blueberry Smoothie
Ingredients:
8 oz of organic whole milk (I like to use raw milk from a local farmer when it is in stock! If buying from the store, I like whole milk from Origin, Alexandre Family Farm, or Kalona SuperNatural.)
1 tsp of pure raw honey
15 grams of organic unsalted almond butter (the ingredient list should just be almonds, there should be NO preservatives or refined sugar in the ingredient list. I like to buy from Wildly Organic or make my own homemade almond butter!)
½ Tablespoon of organic cacao powder (I like to buy from Navitas Organics)
61 grams of organic banana (fresh or frozen, but using a frozen one will make your smoothie more creamy!)
140 grams of frozen or fresh organic blueberries
To assemble:
I learned a valuable layering system for making smoothies from Brittany. By following this layering system, I have noticed that my ingredients are better blended, and my blender does not have to work as hard. Win win!
Start with the liquids first, then the soft ingredients, and then the frozen or hard foods. It’s been a game changer for me! Thank you Brittany! You can of course decrease or increase the amount of liquid if you want a more thick, or less thick smoothie. :)
This smoothie results in an absolutely GORGEOUS purple/blue color that is completely natural due to the blueberries. There is just NO need for the nonsense of artificial colors. Since it’s so beautiful, I LOVE pouring this smoothie into a glass jar so that I can marvel at the color, while enjoying the yummy goodness.
If you make this smoothie, I would be delighted to receive a picture and/or message from you! I enjoy connecting in these kinds of ways.
Have a bessed day!
